Umno mulls taking back sacked leaders, says Supreme Council member

Umno is prepared to welcome back leaders and members who were expelled from the party after the 15th general election, says a Supreme Council member.

Jalaluddin Alias said those who are still loyal and aligned with the party’s struggles, despite being previously sacked or having their membership revoked, will be offered a second chance to rejoin Umno, New Straits Times reported. “In Negeri Sembilan, the Umno state secretary and departmental secretaries were asked to review and consider the applications of only those who remained loyal to the party and aligned with its struggle.”

“The cleaning process that the party did earlier was to expel those who were no longer interested in Umno and believed that the party would be a party. Since last year, prominent Umno leaders, such as Khairy Jamaluddin, Noh Omar and Isham Jalil, have been given shoes. The group also suspended former minister Hishammuddin Hussein and former media chief Shahril Hamdan.

Jalaluddin, who is also the head of Negeri Sembilan Umno said that some of those who were fired from the party now want to join after seeing the current situation. He added “the pure cleansing, saying that it did not cause others to weaken, the branches continued ongoing.

The MPsububa says that some divisions are divided, including the new branch to bring the number of a party.

“Umno has gone through various tests and challenges and faced many problems. The thing about our party is that despite the problems, we have taken a way to overcome them,” he said.
